Computational Design and Fabrication Cource: Geodesics


This Research-based Studio began by studying basic Platonic shapes. The first objective was to explore geometrical operations that can be done on these geometries. Several algorithms examined in order to achieve base geometries for the next step. In the next step, students studied projection methods, subdivisions and regulation processes to model a geodesic / Diamatic or single layer space frame structures. Eventually Patterns/Shaders were morphed or constructed on each cell to comply architectural needs of each case.
